The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Exhibition Invite
MoMA hosted an exclusive invite-only event in Banbury for a travelling exhibition titled Unlaced Grace, showcasing the work of esteemed designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Precious McBane. The exhibition explored the corset as inspiration — from corset-shaped chairs to jewellery and luxury luggage — with each piece unique in its conception and craftsmanship.
To reflect this, I wanted the invitation to physically embody the corset, both in its materials and design. The final piece consisted of a series of 12 postcards, each featuring one of the designers, along with the main invitation card, all packaged in a hand-crafted leather wrap. The leather was sourced from a recycling centre for leather sofas, then hand-cut and assembled to create a tactile, bespoke finish.
The design was as distinctive as the event itself, drawing enthusiastic responses from MoMA and the participating designers, and earning a feature in Creative Review.
